After 20+ days in the Grand I have a few photos that I’d like to share, the question is how. Rather than one long trip report I think I’ll drag it out and post a few canyons as my schedule permits over the next few weeks. So to kick things off I’ll start something short and sweet.
Blacktail from the river was a fun short route with the simplest approach I encountered during my trip in the Grand. However, from the rim I hear is a far different story.
Discussing tomorrow options around the campfire.

As soon as we finished Black tail it started to rain and continued raining for the rest of the day. This was a life experience, I don’t think I’ve ever been so cold for such a long period of time in my life. We did run some big rapids to help us keep warm from fear and adrenaline. After running Fossil, Specter, Bedrock (where we almost went left), and Deubendorff we arrived at our light at the end of the tunnel. A large alcove where we set up camp out of the rain and laid over for a few days while the weather came down.
