This is why I have gone to the Triple Clove, rather than the normal double-clove, for my biner blocks.
That and the one that five people rapped off that was actually a munter hitch.

The triple clove is nice, and I like using it now that I know what it is. And since it is just as easy to tie as a normal clove hitch, there’s really no reason not to use it. But I haven’t had a situation like the picture happen with my clove hitches — they pretty much stay in place on the spine, and when they’re pulled down they look basically the same as when I tied them.
How often does (did) something like the picture happen to your clove hitches? Could you identify something that caused them to move around more often? The picture you attached surprises me because it looks like the clove hitch moved when tied with a large-ish rope on a large round cross section carabiner, which I would have expected to be least likely to slip.

Also why there’s no reason to use a biner block at all on that last rappel if you have a single 60m rope. Just rappel double strand!

Perhaps besides the point but……
NOT the last rappel in Neon

Also why there’s really no reason to do any canyon at all – just do something else!

I now use a constrictor hitch exclusively……
I really like it once I got used to it (which didn’t take long)..
