Recreationist (is that a word?), not canyoneers, but tragic nonetheless. I was actually at a Independence day party when I heard about this. The son of the party hosts got a phone call from a friend who was there playing in the creek and had the unfortunate circumstance trying to help, not being able to help, and seeing her pass. So sad!

This is NOT the Cascade Creek in Ouray with the 300 foot rappel at the end correct? From the article it seems like its a different Cascade Creek closer to Durango but I’m not sure.
