We were finally able to hit a canyon on this trip to Ouray, We’ve been there to do some backpacking a few times and we did the same on this trip only we added Oak Creek to the mix followed by some backpacking up in the Mount Sneffels Wilderness area, a total of 9 days away from home with no shower and no bed. The weather was unpredictable so we had to layover at our camp spot up in the forest along side Portland Creek until the weather gave us a clear day then we went for it. Funny thing we ran into one group all day at the bottom of the big drop and it turned out to be a group from Phoenix and there was a few guys that ive been communicating with on FB (Mark Yarch) but have never met in person. I’d say that was an awesome place to meet in person for the first time.
