This is my first attempt at doing a trip report. I have put it off for a while because some of you do such a great job and your picture are amazing that I am a little intimidated. But here it is any way. You can let me know things to improve on for next time.
On September 12th I took my family through Englestead and we exited through Orderville. This trip occurred just after the flooding that happened in Zion. From the looks of things we were the first to go through Englestead after the flooding. There were a lot of log jams that we had to break up to get through. Some of the jog jams were unstable to cross. The canyon was holding a lot of water in sections.
The morning was beautiful. We got to the trail head early and was able to see the beautiful sky of the early morning. The morning started off a little cool, normal for a September. However it quickly became very comfortable. The water in Englestead was on the chilly side. By the time we came to the last rap of Englestead dropping into Orderville we were all pretty cold. Once we made it to Orderville the water temperature was dramatically warmer.
Once in Orderville we stopped, had some lunch and was able to get warmed up again. The water in Orderville was very pleasant.
In June we did Birch Hollow and exited out Orderville. This time after the flooding, it was interesting how much Orderville changed. Areas that we waded knee deep through were now chest deep and areas that were chest deep were now knee deep.

Man, another trip report in Zion with water early in the canyon. I must be hitting the days right, as Jolley and Englestead had no water when I was there.
I loved reading and seeing your report. What a brave and good lookin’ group. Nothing but excitement on your faces. Nicely done.

Nice! I love how the canyons change after every flash.
Wayne, if you edit your first post, go down to the area of the box where you loaded the pictures. Select full view instead of thumbnail and the pictures will load full size. I know that you can edit your post because I just did the same thing on Monday night.

Sorry, I guess I don’t know how to post the pictures.

The basics (which is the level of my expertise): After you attach/upload pictures to your post, there are three options next to each picture; Thumbnail – Full Image – Delete. Where ever the cursor is when you click either of the first two options is where the pic will land in your post. Hope this helps.
Thank you for sharing your trip, looked like a fun day and good group!
