I don’t know if this this person was canyoneering or not; he is reported as purchasing “some survival kit” from Canyon Outfitters in Sedona before he disappeared. He is a German national and it sounds like his family and friends are having difficulty reporting him as missing and getting assistance to search for him. Please spread the word.

I haven’t heard anything else other than that he was found. I’m curious to hear the whole story but am doubtful that they’ll follow up. I don’t know anyone involved personally, the alarm was raised by someone in an alumni network that I belong to.

Interesting. The west fork of oak creek flooded this weekend. Don’t know about any of the side canyons, but I wonder if this had anything to do with the concerns or lack of communications.
