And you also indicate a bolt at the first rappel. I was under the impression that you said seeing a bolt there re-assured you that you were in the right canyon, or at least a well-traveled canyon. Which is one reason I wanted to get THAT bolt especially out. That drop does not normally have slings on it either, because it is easy enough to come back at the end and remove the sling – or convince someone to come give you a meat anchor for that rappel.
