My friend and I took our daughters on their first Zion canyon adventure last weekend. We caught the canyons after a week of rain. Perfect! We started it off with Diana’s Throne, which was quite full of waist-deep water and jiggly sand. What a splendid romp, my phrase the teens mocked mercilessly. It’s a perfect beginner canyon. Then on to Keyhole, always a charmer and as full as I’ve ever experienced. We enjoyed some rock-jumping at the Pine Creek swimming hole to round out the day. The next day was Echo, first time through for all of us. What an awesome canyon when full like that. Enjoy the pic below of Echo, and then enjoy a video our kids made. It involves an uncommon amount of canyon sliding. And, let’s be honest, some canyon falling and other unexpected adventures, like canyon water swallowing.
