Care bear is on the move again. headed to California, from Utah. My understanding is that the bear has had a bath and assisted in several surgeries, adding these practical contributions, in addition to its famed holistic healing powers.
care bear has had three homes since the last post, helping to speed the recovery of a leg injury, back surgery and a shattered finger. The bear is looking for a new home to visit, friend to make and care to offer. Contact me at adkramoo at aol dot com if you or someone you know is in need.
I did not realize Care Bear has had her passport stamped before. Yes, of course Canada is international! I guess I should correct my statement and say that she is prepping for her first European mission. Safe travels young bear!
Rumor has it that Share Bear/Care Bear may be making her very first international journey. Let’s wish her safe travels on perhaps her biggest healing mission yet!
My girlfriend took this pic of Care Bear helping me heal during one of my frequent healing naps. I’m feeling a lot better after surgery and am ready to send Care Bear to the next poor fellow.
I seem to recall having custody (possession?) of The Bear for a day or two in camp on some long-forgotten trip, related to some minor injury or some such. I think he/she was promiscuously making the rounds at that time, spreading both joy and germs far and wide…
Brejcha had Share Bear before me. Pretty sure he stole it from an orphan at the hospital when he was recovering from ankle surgery. He then gave it to me in June of 2011, when I was in the hospital recovering from brain surgery. Probably the worst gift I’ve ever been given.
I also wanted to burn it at FF, hoping to ceremoniously burn all the memories of 2011 with it. Terrifying to see it still being passed around, bringing pain and suffering to all who touch it. Probably has ebola now too. Gross.
I’ll accept that invitation, Ram, and extend it to all the others to post photos and stories of their time with The Care Bear.
The notion has come up often, to begin a Care Bear post/FB page/Blog or a thread (like this).
Here is Care Bear (and moi) enjoying the Annular Eclipse, May 2012. Shortly after this photo, CB made the first of her/his international trips of healing to cross the northern border in the front seat. Imagine the smiles I got from folks in the passing cars seeing her/him peering out the side window held firmly by the shoulder strap belt!
Having been the the fella who had the care bear before Brian (and only 2 time winner/loser), who is James and what happened to him?
For those not aware, Care Bear is a medicinal miracle for the sick or injured. Care Bear knows no canyon politics or divides. He/she (unsure on that one) just wants to help. Cures have included broken legs, arms, wrists (2), knee replacements (2), blood clots, substantial abrasions etc.

Yes, wishing Care Bear a safe and prosperous travel.
He/she has facilitated healing to at least two folks north of the border.
Though many Americans consider Canada part of the United States (‘not saying you do, Dean), it is often considered a separate nation.
Thus an international destination?

Hey Chris,
Yep I’m in socal now, if you have any info on another injured canyoneerer you could email me the info at jmsgrunden@gmail.com. Thanks for the help.
Chris Hood
James,
Are you in Cali? I suspect that we can orchestrate something through the giant network, one way or another.
James Russ
Hi Chris,
How could I get in contact with you or the injured party to help care bear on its way.
Chris Hood
James: We may have a particularly tall and highly skilled candidate for Shhhh-Care Bear, if he/she can make his/her way to SLC.

Share Bear does NOT have Ebola! And she’s kind – and good. Not evil at all.
This is a photo of Share Bears mom! BTW Share Bear’s real name is Emi Makita the 2nd!

I stole it from a small, adorable, child in May 2011. I tried to burn Share Bear at FF 2012, but she escaped.

I always called her Share Bear….Anyway, 3 years ago she helped me through a terrible bad luck streak and a shoulder injury from climbing.
I can’t remember who had Share Bear first. I think it was either Dan or Matt. Maybe one of them will tell the tale.
Its possible that mistreating her results in very bad luck.
All hail the powers of the bear.
