Sadly, we had to leave a rope and rope bag on the 2nd rap of Cassidy’s Arch canyon on Sunday May 26th. It is a 200′ ft white rope with neon green and black woven in. We filed a Lost & (hopefully to be) Found report at the Capital Reef Visitors Center. If anyone has found it, please give me a shout.

Have you called the Park back about the Lost and Found? They are not necessarily very good at managing such things.

Thanks for the feedback Doug! I believe that Kevin Swanson was with Luke, the group that you let play through at Cassidy’s on Monday. Kevin said that another group had gone through before them (Either they heard, saw or caught up to the other group) and the rope was gone when they got to rap 2. I am thinking that the group before Luke/Kevin may have the rope.

Just to clarify, Leanne, we assumed that another group had gone through – we didn’t run into anyone or see them. The only evidence was that the rope wasn’t there… So some time between you guys and us, it was recovered. Hope you hear something! (Great seeing you, again, BTW!)

Interestingly enough as were finishing up our first rap of Cassidy’s arch a group of three which included Luke (Of Bluugnome fame) joined us at the top. We let them play through. In their pursuit of the canyon they also mentioned that they were going to retrieve a rope left behind in that canyon. I am sure they have your rope.
