Wyoming Dave knows me well, so when he told me i would like Duckett, perhaps most among all the mini-slots he and Penny were sharing, I took it to heart. Still I had not been around the area for a spell and then the culvert washed out making access much longer for a spell. Still a window opened up in April and convinced Jenny to come take a peek with me.
The canyon has that interplay between the water level and the difficulty and methods used to negotiate the many small drops. Low water and more raps. High water and slide ins to swims. The middle water level offers downclimbs of all manner. That is what we found. Dave was right. We really enjoyed it.
We found a dead cow up top. This the day after finding the dead sheep and mountain lion (seen here..http://canyoncollective.com/threads/conditions-update.18255/#post-74596). A lovely half day out.
