UT: Zion – Birch Hollow – Zion, UT 10-21-2012

Birch Hollow is a fun little canyon and is permit free because it’s outside of Zion National Park. It is a pretty dirty canyon, but has some beautiful rock formations and big rappels that are really fun! The hike in isn’t that great (watch out for thorny bushes and mud), and the hike out isn’t much fun either. I wouldn’t recommend doing this canyon after a rainstorm. It will be super muddy and I have a friend that refuses to ever do Birch Hollow again because he went when it was muddy and had a really bad time. It is a fun canyon though! Be sure to have a shuttle!

It was creepy seeing the 2 raps where the deaths occurred this year
