Hit the trail about 8 am. had read the light is best on the morning. No cars at approach lot. No surprises in canyon besides that the 2nd Rappel had a decent trickle which made the whole thing very slippery. Was very fun.

Yeah it was pretty obvious down in the lower part, it got a little harder to follow once you got up near the top, but as long as you don’t try to do it in the dark you should be fine (speaking from personal experience).

hmmmmm i’ll have to keep that in mind for next time. is the trail pretty straight forward these days?
John Styrnol
I hear it’s suppose to be. Even if you have to bushwack up, it’s still alot shorter, but……….
Tom Collins
Its a little strenuous, but if you factor in the time required to set it up, the Wild Wind Hollow exit is actually faster than the shuttle, even if you have a car at the Lower TH.

we drove down saturday and stopped in panguitch for a cast iron dutch oven and lasagna ingredients. set up camp 6 miles out of mt caramel junction and went up to Red hollow in orderville for a short leg stretch in that little slot. Just got out of town for about 30 hrs.
yup only one we did. My girlfriend didn’t come as she is wanting to practice awkward starts more. Great shuttle person though haha
just gotta show off my dutch oven lasagna
John Styrnol
Done that before. Is that the only canyon you did?
John Styrnol
Nice. Been there many times. Which exit did you take?

the long road haha! so to lower orderville trailhead then the road to upper orderville TH.
next time i’ll make sure i have a vehicle at lower TH.
