I didn’t do Heaps but shuttled a group of 6 to Lava Point. They set off at approx 4AM and got to the grotto at 8PM. Not a ton of info on conditions but he mentioned that the potholes were full of cold water. They didnt do many pot hole escapes. Long swims in cold dark corridors. He stayed warm with a 5 mm full suit and a 1mm vest underneath. He used neoprene socks, beanie and gloves. Others in the group didn’t have the gloves socks etc and struggled with extremities getting cold.
At about the half way section a large pine tree had fallen within the last few weeks and had deposited pine branches in the corridors making for a swimming obstacle.
He didn’t mention any of the anchors needing repair. He may chime in later but I wanted to get a basic report out there for anyone thinking of doing it in the next couple days.

There are many things you can point to as proof that the human is not smart. But my personal favorite would have to be that we needed to invent the helmet. What was happening, apparently, was that we were involved in a lot of activities that were cracking our heads. We chose not to avoid doing those activities but, instead, to come up with some sort of device to help us enjoy our head-cracking lifestyles.
