This past October, I spent a weekend in Zion canyoneering with lostlandscapes and some other friends. We timed this trip to finally catch the Subway in it’s prime fall colors, and we were not disappointed. We started the weekend off with a mind blowing trip through the most colorful Mystery Canyon I can imagine, followed that up with Russell Gulch into The Subway and then stopped by Yankee Doodle on the way home. The colors were absolutely incredible and have convinced me that a late October or early Nov Zion trip must become a regular occurrence.

It is also a good time for the big canyons, that’s why God made headlamps.
Great pics Nick, and love the video.

Well this just seals it, our trip in October is Zion!

Definitely not a good time of year for the big canyons, but aside from that, hard to beat.

Indeed Fall is a great time!
Lots of colors is a understatement, a much easier time getting a permit for any canyon, cooler air-temps, etc.
But the only downside is much shorter daylight hours. Otherwise I agree 100%.
