FYI. This information was released today. Props to the SAR team on a successful evac and wishing the best for a speedy recovery for the injured canyoneer. I am curious though about where the fall of 100-200 feet occurred on a ridge in the 6 pm hour.

I heard from friends of the man that fell that he tumbled down the steep sneak route exit on the way out of West Clear Creek after completing Wilbur Canyon. He may have been a bit off route and that area is very loose and steep.

I have not used the sneak exit for Wilbur, but in Shamrock we got a little off route and instead of going back down just to go up we did a sketchy traverse on the same kind of loose stuff. My gf was not happy.

Helicopters are life savers.
Would be interesting to understand the mechanism of failure that resulted in the fall.
