Anyone know some easy dry canyons to do in Zion or near Saint George?

Anyone know some easy dry or not so wet canyons to do in Zion or near Saint George? This would be next week, so I’m guessin temps would be in the 50s. Any suggestions and stories would be appreciated. Thanks!

Isn’t it storming there right now? Most of the south? Based on the

last month I wonder if anywhere is gonna be dry at least for awhile.

    Shawn’s suggestions are good, but…..

  • I would guess that Behunin is going to have some cold water and mud in it too.

Watch out for Yankee Doodle and Birch, both likely have large sections of ice, snow, and water right now. The last section of Yankee had two swimmers in November (we’ve had significant precipitation every week since December). Check out the photos of Birch last March in the file section, be aware that was a dry year. Can’t speak for Behunin but Tom’s shots of Angel’s Landing might give a few hints (though it looks like a sunny spell is coming…Behunin is south facing). Best of luck on finding a dry canyon and be safe.

  • A few photos taken from my front door. (East side of Zion – Orderville) I have lived here since 1992 and never seen it snow this hard. Notice the trampoline is about to be covered!

  • Storming?!?!?! That’s an understatement! I have lived here since 1992 and this is the first time I have seen things so buried and its still snowing. What a mess! I can’t even get out of my yard. (but then only one guy on a tractor plows here and he is probably at a Superbowl Party today) ;p
