Ascent of Englestead Canyon

You have all the good stories!! Are we talking about jugging a rope or did some one climb it? I never looked at it in that way so I have no idea. Guessing that if it was climbable it would be near the water course or off of some of the ledges downcanyon a bit where the hunted cat and dogs fell. ENOUGH guessing! Do tell! R

    Nope. They’d done it (descended Englestead) earlier this winter. Went back for the send.

    Was climbed. In three pitches. Climbers left of the tree rappel.

    I don’t know of a link. I have the pictures… Yeah, was a cold winter down there at times…bugger was THICK.

    Interesting…too…guys that did it, figured it was maybe possible to ascend the ENTIRE canyon…(even the bits that didn’t have ice). Must be nice to be strong… One of them really thought that smooth chute rappel would go as a free climb (!). Wouldn’t be surprised to see them try it sometime in the next year or so.
