Behunin Canyon – Water?

We are planning a trip in the Behunin area this weekend. Last time I was there (a bit over a month ago) there was a little bit of running water BEFORE the first rappel. Rangers at the back country desk say there was water reported in the upper canyon as of a couple days ago. Anyone been in there in the last few days or a week? I was wondering if there was still a bit of running water just before getting to Rap 1. I would like the opportunity to filter water there on the way through.

Does anyone have any useful info on this?

Thanks

Luke

And if anyone is interested in a TR for Behunin it is on my site now http://www.bluugnome.com/canyoneer_tripreport_behunin_zion.aspx

Bear with me on the site, it is going through a few growing pains at the moment so you may find a few inconsistencies.

Looks like we are going to have to haul all our water.

    Have a good night

I was in Behunin about 6-7 weeks ago. While there was some running trickles at the top and bottom of the first rap sequences, I would not have used the water for drinking at any other location even then……

I did Behunin 2 weeks ago, I would not have pumped any water at that time, far too skanky. >

Given the heat of the last couple of days, it is unlikely there will be palatable pumpable water anywhere in the canyon.

There tends to be a trickle near the first rap, but only a trickle.  And then some skanky pools further on in the canyon.
