I started using an all-synthetic high tec sock (Thorlo Hiking HX) about a year ago and they have been great. Going in and out of potholes wet/dry/wet seems like the tough thing, and they work well for that. Also important that your shoes are 100% synthetic so they don’t shrink or get bigger through those wet/dry cycles.

Sealskins over regular cotton socks. Roll down the calf portion of the sealskins when you are hoofing overland. — Tom Jones tom@jrat.com> wrote: > I started using an all-synthetic high tec sock > (Thorlo Hiking HX) about a year > ago and they have been great.
