You might also consider inviting folks slower than you. Quarter mile dash speed matters

I will do just that. Thanks for the suggestion. Guess those on the invite list should made aware so they have the choice.

When you get the book, look in the forward, written by Joe DeSalme. Out of nowhere, near the end, the quote…..”We invite out-of-staters, nothing more than an extended family from beyond the Arizona borders to come join us. We show them that there are more canyons besides the Grand Canyon and “the Jug.” We show them some of Arizona’s best kept secrets and sometimes they get stung by bees.”

I have been an out-of-stater participant on three occasions. On all of them, hives have been disturbed and multiple stings have occurred, to several different folks. Sometimes as many as four stings to a person. Now I am uncertain whether the bees are extremely loyal or it is one of those “law of averages” type thing, but all the stings were inflicted on the out-of-staters. Maybe one to Todd on the 1st trip as the exception?

Aaron leads all with 8 total from the trips. Tom got a solid 4 last time. And to my knowledge, I am the only out-of-stater who has not been stung. Maybe the Zona boys told the bees that I have honorary in state status? Alas, I have probably jinxed myself now.

Let me recommend Voodoo right now. To access you would need to head up to near Flag, but I bet the water is nice and chill right now, in the summer heat.

Sycamore Canyon would be my first choice. It’s fairly wide, but at the same time picturesque. There are a few lesser canyons to the NNW of Sedona that are worth looking into as well.
