Last May a few of us descended Woody. I think we may have been some of the first to do so since we got luck with some great beta provided by Tom or someone. Whoever that was… Thanks again, we really enjoyed it.
We noticed that there are some other side canyons of Woodruff near and around Woody that might just be as interesting and fun as Woody was. Any beta on these side canyons? How do they compare to Woody?
Thanks, Rick

The always generous Wyoming Dave gets the kudos The start of this rave http://www.canyoneeringusa.com/rave/0712exploration/index.htm And the tale on Woody proper http://www.canyoneeringusa.com/rave/0712exploration/indexx8.htm

Here is the TR of the exploration of the best of the north forks, 2 FreezeFests ago http://groups.yahoo.com/group/canyons/message/42453 Also note that Woodsy is mentioned and beta’d here too. We have done follow up descents at this years FreezeFest. We also did a fork a little further to the west, on the south side, paralleling Woodsy and back further from main Woodruff. This canyon has a 75 yard slot and has poison ivy in a hanging garden, below the final rap, that is nearly unavoidable. Ask Jim Wright who didn’t avoid it. It is best avoided by skipping this tiny piece of canyon, with the nasty surprise. Ram
