The plan was to join friends in the North Wash on Friday, then on to Boulder Saturday evening. A gas stop at Stan’s Chevron reveled 40 mph winds with the Henry’s barely visible. Plans were changed. We were off to Boulder a day early for warmth and shelter. Saturday we awoke to sub-freezing temps outside and praised our decision. The Death Hollow sneak route was chosen, hoping we could escape before snow fell on the North face. Ice formed on our boots. A cold day to be wading in water.

Sunday, another cold morning and a slow start. Upper Muley twist was the target. We wished we had started sooner as we had to race to beat the sunset, but the hike was spectacular. Fresh snow on the Henrys. So many arches! One of my favorite non-technical routes so far. We ended the day toasting Tom with his intended birthday beer, 1554. Sorry we missed you guys but we were thinking of you!
