I’ve uploaded to the files section a sample map from my long-awaited, soon-published-(fingers-crossed) Zion guidebook. Take a look at it, and tell me what you think. I’m mostly looking for comments regarding the style of the map, not necessarily comments specific to the routes shown (though those are useful too). Does the map make sense? Do you understand what is going on? What other things should I bring out?
Comment to me directly ( tom at CanyoneeringUSA dot com ) if you want.
Thanks.

Resolution too low.
No Lat/Long/UTM?
Presume “R” = Rap location?
Foy your book – pppllleeeaaassee include a tabulation of routes by grade/raps/skill/other features and a decent index. My two pet peeves with many guidebooks – the authors put lots of work into them and leave out two incredibly helpful items.
I’ll buy it as soon as you publish it

Thanks, Wyoming-Night-Owl-Dave. Points well taken.

Looks pretty clear to me as to how I would match the routes on your map to the maps I would carry.I’m not certain what the “P” just northeast of the tunnel signifies. If it’s an alternate parking spot I woud spell it out for consistancy. You could lable the raps as R1,R2,etc.if you are calling them rap 1 and 2 in the text. Those are very minor points.
