Sounds like I am headed to Escalante later this week. Looking for up to date conditions and some beta.
Don’t know how much ground we’d have time to cover, but the general idea is to go down Coyote, up Stevens and explore Beryl, Ichabod, Hydra, Shofar, etc. Cliff Point is probably too far away (thanks, Ram for the pointer!)
I do have Steve Allen’s book. There’s no information there on how technical those canyons north of Stevens are. I suspect we’d be carrying a 30m 8 mil rope. Is a wetsuit useful?

You won’t need a wetsuit but the rope will be handy as will good climbing skills. You’re heading into a special area- treat it with care and take lots of photos there’s few places on this planet that compare to it.
