Hi, Good comments by others on the use (and ethics) of Klettersteigs. Native language in the SudTirol is the SudTirol dialect of German, to the dismay of the Italians, which is why I use the word Klettersteig.
The climbing is a different story. Strong ethics here. While I’m sure there are bolts, I’ve never seen one and I sure wished for one many a time. Some bolts would have prevented me having to make an extra trip to the store to buy new undies. Usually you see old iron pitons or wooden pitons as you vainly search for gear placements.
I’m really looking forward to bringing my kid over there, to do the Klettersteigs, when she gets older. steve
