By the way, just in case it wasn’t clear: the Italian AIC rendez-vous that Jonas and I posted is exactly the same event that Luca recommended in the post that Tom forwarded. But the correct date is 14-22 August. I hope to make it if I possibly can!

If you’re looking for a rendez-vous in Europe over the summer period I’d definitely recommend the AIC rendez-vous that Jonas forwarded the link too. The AIC rendez-vous has been consistently good over the past few years, and this year’s venue (Val d’Ossola) is a great area to spend a week canyoning (many classic canyons, some nice jumps & toboggans). It overlaps with an ACA Mexico RZ, so few will be going. I might be there, but not sure right now.
Marco say canyons will suck, too early in the year and not too good to start with. I think he exagerates, but still, if you go ONLY for the canyons note that they say the hikes there are better than the canyons. Marco and Roger and Jane and Tatiana (Brazil) will be going
First Week in August Torino area [Italian alps where Mont Blanc and Matterhorn are] Fantastic canyons, also glacier treks and vias ferratas. I’ll be there for sure.
Spanish groups are also organizing something, but I went last year and sucked. Too short (just 3 days and last one everyone gets drunk so only 2 canyons!!!)
In my experience the best is the Italian. Lots of people go from all over Europe.
