Aren’t you headed to the Alps soon for some canyoneering? Is it an organized rendezvous? Where? France or Switzerland? How long. Got any links to the area visited? Others we know going? If so have fun What pictures I have seen look awesome. R

Yep, this week…
http://vercors2008.ffspeleo.fr/
Picked up the new how-to Canyonisme manual (in French) from Rich. Its pretty good. I wish the DVD (included) was also in English, but, what’s particularly useful about it is hearing the different words for different things. And, seeing the different techniques demonstrated.
Anyhoo, in France, south of Grenoble, in the Vercors region.
A few folks from here going. If you surf the ACA forum you can see the schedule of presenters and you’ll recognize a familiar name or two.
I’m hoping to mostly climb…(ha ha)…
What’s fun about these things, in part, is me annoying everyone by trying to say “off rappel” in as many languages, and, with both hand and whistle signals, after every drop, as possible. LIBRE! Oh, and mispronouncing most everything.
A celebration of rap and swim kiddie canyoneering, to be sure.
Cheers,
