Word is just hitting the news here of a group of hikers who were in the vicinity of Seven Falls (lower part of Bear Canyon in the Catalina Mountains). Evidently they got flashed and while most made it to higher ground there was on fatality. The survivors were airlifted out, and evidently some others were pulled out of Lower Sabino Canyon. Ironically there was no rain down here in the Tucson Valley – at least at my house anyway.
It sounds like moth groups were hiking, not on either of the technical canyon routes in different portions of the same canyons.
