Fluff~ Awesome

My pal woodie and I did a really cool canyon last week called “Gotcha”. The canyon was rated 4C R V, but we did it in 4 hours. We only do canyons with a rating of 4R or 4X. Anything less then that is just technical hiking and not really worthy of us. Occasionally we will do a 3R or 3X, but then we put 50 lbs of sand in our packs and only use waterski rope because we are so awesome.

Gotcha was awesome, not pizza awesome, more like two nakid chicks awesome. The pots in the Indian ruins were awesome, until Woodie broke his pot while stuffing it into his backpack. The hanging gardens were awesome, but didn’t compare to the waterfall under the natural bridge with pictographs. That was super awesome.

I can’t tell you where Gotcha is located because then someone else might be able to enjoy it and one of the fanboi’s might beat me up….

Anyhoo….. hope you enjoyed my TR, now I’m going over to Woodies house so we can tell each other how awesome we are.

Serious….. If any of you are interested I’m going down to do anther awesome canyon this weekend let me know. It will be a down Friday night back Saturday night thing. If you want to drive all the better….. I’m getting tired of that drive south. Woodie can’t go because he has to stay home and clean his hamster cage. Anyone interested ping me sideband…. I don’t really care where we go or what we do, but if I stay in town I have to go with my wife to a lesbian wedding….. no shit….

Totally Awesome

  • Dear Woodie,

Yesterday a friend got hurt while canyoneering in Zion. He fell about 50cm while canyoneering alone and hit his arm against a rock. Broke his elbow. He managed to drive himself to the Emergency Room but I had to go pick him up this morning. The guy in the same room had been run over by a car and had tire threads on this chest. Don’t worry too much about canyoneering risks, I’ve checked the statistics and one is 10 times more likely to die in a car accident than a canyoneering accident, so I’m safe.

Today I started to lead. The leader is the guy who is in charge of all the other beginners. It’s more interesting and more challenging. So we were descending this super secret slot where lots of other canyoneers go. Two of my more experienced friends (they had both done three canyons each) tried to do this route and got scared. They left all the gear and ropes halfway down and someone had to retrieve it…… and finish the slot. They were both telling me that I’d top- roped enough in the gym and I could do the downclimbing. I took my first fall a few minutes later. I’ll be damned if rope burns aren’t worse than paper cuts. But leading is a lot more interesting than following. Please send money for a harness, those sling harnesses are not too comfortable, even when I remember how to tie them up properly. I can’t sit down for too long.

Currently I am back in the ER room waiting for the doc to finish sterilizing my partner’s butt. He was wearing shorts when he slipped on a mossy rappel. He fell off the steeper section and scrapped his butt as he slid down. I spent 20 minutes with the pliers from the Swiss army knife removing most of the pebbles under the stare of Zion Narrows hikers. We’ll stop bye as we drive back. Bye for now,

    Best Regards Totally Awesome

You’re crazy. Choose the lesbian wedding, you never know, you might just lucky with a couple of bridesmaids. Although my experience is that real life lesbians are far less attractive than the ones that I occasionaly (always on accident…I swear) find on the internet.
