ok, so this is used for ATVs(winch rope) mainly, but is it any good?

Looks great…200 ft of 8mm=5 pounds with 12,300 tensile strength. Floats and does not kink. Abrasion resistance close to perfect.
Very expensive though, listed at $1.40 per ft. It can be had on Ebay for example @ 150 ft for $209 though.
Heres a report on it..

Thanks for the input….maybe someday they can get the weight down for canyoneering rope.
Actually for $200 it was only 100 ft as well.

Its a woven polypro (the high tech version, spectra) rope with no sheath. Very poor ability to handle the heat from your rappel device. I’ve rappelled off a 7mm polypro rope. The rope actually glazed from the heat from my ATC. ATC got so hot (maybe due to the woven construction?), that it burned my arm (still have the scar).
Has almost no elongation, which is not optimal for any rope used for canyoneering or climbing.
Not a good option methinks….

Well for one thing, it’s not a core/sheath rope, it’s just braided strands of Spectra, which means it will melt at about 300 degrees Farenheit, and begin to have progressive strength loss above 150 degrees F…I think I can breathe 150 degrees if I eat enough salsa….
