Gear~TOPO! map software

The TOPO!software came in today(Thanks Tom and CUSA)and it is as easy as I had hoped. It took a little while and maybe a little cursing to get the data installed on my hard drive. Now that it’s all set up it is really easy to use.To my mind it operates much like Adobe Photoshop. I don’t have a GPS but it looks as though it would be easy to get maps onto a handheld. BTW if you ping me sideband with the coordinates of secret canyons,I’ll be able to check them out…LOL

You pretty much can’t get maps into a handheld unbless you buy the map >software from the handheld GPS manufacturer – its proprietary format >and $$ software.

No point really – screen is too small. Just download the routes and >carry a map printout from Topo. Works for me
