To canyon lovers over the world.
My name is Aleksandar Gavric (for friends-Aca). I am the owner of the
first adventure tourist agency in Montenegro, Yugoslavia. The agency
named FAETON is in the small city Zabljak (1.500 m. altitude) on the
mountain Durmitor (over then 2.523 m. high) and near the biggest canyon in the Europe (and second in the world)- canyon of river Tara. There are plenty of smaller
canyons in the Durmitor. Some of them are very specific. For example
canyon ”Nevidio” (in translation ”Can’t see”) have that name because
in some of its parts you can’t see the sky. The narrowest place in the
canyon is half meter wide. The river ”Komarnica” runs through it.
Mountain Durmitor and the river Tara canyon are in the ”National park
Durmitor” and we have exclusive right to do many adventure activities
in this park.
All this is situated only two hour driving with car to Adriatic Sea and
the same to International Airport in Podgorica.
There are lot of potentials to organize: backpacking, mountain biking,
camping, caving, canyoning, whitewater fishing, horseback riding,
kayaking, ropes courses, paragliding, snow skiing, dog sledding, whitewater rafting,
wildlife viewing and photography, seeing many old monasteries and
churches and probably much more. Some of those activities are already
‘alive’. Since our web presentation is in progress, all interesting will
get photos of those places on personal e-mail.
We are young outfitters and don’t have so much professional experience.
So, we invite all of you who want to try this beautiful mountain and
think that can help us to make something wild and good in this part of
Europe. All ideas are really welcome! We are opened for all kinds of
cooperation.
