Can you put the word out that Hole in the Rock road is CLOSED. Washed out and saturated. Should be open in a few days according to the county road crew. Also remind folks that “driving around” puddles and leaving the road is TOTALLY ILLEGAL. If you can’t get through the swamp and or aren’t willing to repair the road then it is best to turn around.
A few stranded hikers near Choprock had some food dropped out of the plane to hold them over until the river level lowers. Stay tuned.

Hole in the Rock Road is formally CLOSED- There is a closure sign on Hwy 12. Vehicles are not allowed to go down the road. Hikers and campers who were down there before the storms may be getting airlifted out due to road damage and flooding. For more details, contact the Escalante Visitor Center: 435-816-5499
