Here is Richard “Dick” Frank making progress using the “Sternum Swivel.” Note how his foot is turned the wrong way? It took him almost hour to get to a spot that he could get it turned the right way. Fun and games in The Beast section of Brimstone. March 1988. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/canyons/
This pothole is no problemo when dry. Even has a moderate solo climb out option with a little bridging. Cover that bad boy in mud and you got yourself a keeper without a doubt! I really liked this canyon, as did our whole group. Kinda reminds me of a Powell canyon with training wheels.

Nice photo. Reminds me of a time the wife and I sat in a small cave to keep dry. The rain was hitting our feet and the lightning blasting the air overhead echoing up and down the canyon. After the rain stopped we got to see the flood on the walk back to the truck.

I think it is Denali Mike stemming over the top of a silo, 60 feet off the ground in Big Tony in the King’s Mesa area. The X section where this picture is taken, can be bypassed. Much of the rest of the canyon is R rated and spectacular, but not to be underestimated. Photo by John Diener October 7th 2012

They are adorable, and also very good at poking you in the belly while socializing at Saddlefest! Marley (sp?) I believe and I still have some scores to settle Very fun kids! Cheers! Wayne

That was a fun day! Wish I could make it out there again this year. Especially would have liked to join in the Rondy, which is going on this upcoming weekend for those that didn’t know.
Lots of folks I know are going, including some past Ouray Rondy friends, some folks from my Grand Canyon trip, etc. Would have loved to catch up with them, but definitely can’t make it out to the Rondy, and don’t know if Ouray is in the cards at all this year; which is a bummer as there are some really fun canyons there…
Hope everyone going there this year has a safe and fun time!
