Information below regarding an international meeting of canyoneering.
The International Canyonism Assembly, orgasised by French Federation of Mountain and Climbing (FFME), from the 31 May to 2 June 2002 , at the Niolu, Corsica. For more than 5 years, the FFME has organised annually a national canyon assembly. This year, in the context of the Corsican region and the international year of Mountains, wanted to make this an international meeting This will give greater possibilities to exchange ideas, and to enrich the organisation of canyoning in each country. We hope to invite a maximum of countries implicated in this activity.

Title : International Canyon Assembly The Fédération Française de la Montagne et de l’Escalade is organising for the first time in the history of alpinism an international assembly about the activity descent of canyon the canyonism.
Corsica has been chosen for it’s natural riches. The goal is to group together a maximum number of people interested by this activity, to enable the different representatives to exchange their knowledge and experiences about : – The organisation of the activity – Progression and equipment techniques, and their associated apparatus and accessories – The environmental aspects – Trainig – Mountain rescue – Mountain medecine
Whilst respecting each person’s identity, this assembly will be occasion to take a global look over the activity, and to draw up some serious plans for a responsible future.
