The Boulder was redesigned for 2003 and the shoe you saw was the 2002 model. I think the 2003 shoe that is on the retailer shelves currently looks like a much better climbing shoe than the 2002 counter-part you saw on Sierra Trading. I would guess that this shoe would be an excellent choice for those who like to challenge themselves with more technical up and down climbs and leaves the rope in the bag when other options exist.
