The 300′ + rope I’m currently using is the PMI Maxwear 9mm. The previous 300 + rope I had was the BW 9.2 Canyon. After some time doing big drops on both I like the PMI better. They are both good ropes. IMO, the PMI has less stretch and provides a better ride on those long drops. I know Ben @ ‘The Mountain Shop’ in Cedar City can get you that PMI or ‘Outdoor Outlet’ in St. George stocks it sometimes.
To reiterate my point, in a 200′ rope for general use I would say, ‘toss a coin’. However, the PMI rides better on that last drop in Heaps. YMMV.

PS – I’d pan-handle $50 before buying a new rope from a questionable source. or You might be able to find some old used 8mm half-ropes and just melt them together. That is really cost effective. ;-)~ (just kidding)
