LOL! The ice almost never holds…which is soooo much fun. I remember being told how break thru ice would kill you as a kid and it was true, but not at FreezeFest. Its a spectator sport with a smile waiting for a laugh.
As far as gliding is concerned, I have a personal new rating system. It is what kind of “movement” does a canyon offer. Some canyons have “GREAT” movement (shenanigan’s), others it can be awkward (shimrock). Both are very good to great canyons. Shennany offers graceful “controlled falling” with gravity as your friend, while Shimrock has the awkward heel toe. Canyoneering at its best……is a dance….for me anyway.
