With respect to how you use Canyons and what you expect it to provide, would this group be better served by the current Groups format or by moving it to a Bulletin Board format, such as Bogley or the ACA forums?
o Bulletin Board > o Current Groups format

Damn…. I have to learn to NOT click on these threads.
This is a dumbass poll…. TR’s with photo’s ARE beta…. they are just incomplete beta.
The part I find amusing is folks get pissed when others figure out the route from this incomplete beta. Post all the fluff you like….. me and the boyz catalog and cross reference every drop. Just don’t be surprised or upset when your secret fluff route finds a place of honor on your favorite website or in a guidebook.

Hello all
Over the years this group has hosted many discussions about so-called “secret canyons†(see post 36315 for a recent example). Some find TRs and photos of same quite entertaining while others see it as ego-driven boasting and/or taunting. The purpose of this poll is to get a rough read on what the groupthink is on this topic. The poll is anonymous so no-one will know how you voted. Participation by all is encouraged.
Please select only one answer that *best* expresses your attitude toward the posting of TRs and photos of “secret” or unbeta’d canyons on this group.
Results will not be displayed while poll is underway; poll ends next Thursday and results will then be posted to the group.
o I enjoy TRs and photos of canyons w/o beta – keep ’em coming. o I enjoy TRs and photos of canyons w/o beta but would prefer to see them with locations and other info provided. o I enjoy TRs and photos of canyons w/o beta but am annoyed when locations and other info are not provided. o I enjoy TRs and photos of canyons w/o beta but would prefer they were not posted without locations and other info. o I do not enjoy TRs and photos of canyons w/o beta.

I voted for getting stuck, but it looks like Tom and Ram top the list as the most popular answer!

Please add falling rocks 🙁
I once did a very long canyon where the rock was pockmarked with fresh impact scars, every square foot of it… not a round stone at the bottom, all exploded shards – in a canyon with flowing water. You could hear the rocks coming down a looong time before they actually hit bottom, but you couldn’t see them. Just pray your number wasn’t up.
It wasn’t funny. At all.
