I think I did recommend these in the discussion of the keeper pothole in Neon awhile back. Of course these climbing sticks are best strapped to a big ass tree so someone will need to carry the 650 lb, 20 foot long log in-canyon as well. One could save 625 pound of weight and just carry one of those telescoping ladders that only weight about 25 pounds.
Personally, I am holding out for the rifle fired grappling hook that are used for boarding ships.
