I know with our collective knowledge in this group, I will get some good advice. I took my own boys and a rental son to Central America for Christmas. It was a fantastic trip, but one of my boys got sick on day 3 and was sick for well over a week. I put him on sulfamethoxazole (Bactrum) and it seemed to help, but it still took a long time to end. My doctor told me I can use this as a preventative (1 tablet 2x a day) as well. Anyone have any thoughts on using Bactrum over Cipro? I have used Cipro in the past and it took my body a LONG time to reset after I’d killed whatever it was. Another one of my boys got sick for one day and was over it. Food poisioning? It is really hard to figure these things out while you’re on the road. Any advice is appreciated. Also, we are hoping to go to Peru in 2 years. If anyone has experience traveling there, let me know and I’d love to contact you about it. Alicia
