I had to call, never being the patient type and they are sore and tired, but fine. Turns out that both you and Penny and Steve and Sue were both in Green River at motels last night! In case they don’t get back to you on location, the gear is is on the ground, by the crux, where you and Amy passed low. You and Penny are world class canyon moles, but with the small contents of a first aid kit on the narrow floor, near some rocks dropped into the very narrow bottom, a ski pole type devise sounds like it might be very handy in pulling some of the smaller stuff out to wider areas. The pack is a few feet further and wedged above. I won’t steal any of more of their thunder. They have a great tale to tell. R

I understood the sentiment. Simply a joke being made on my part, you know, moles are blind and have pink noses, etc. Last time for me at the Beast ended up in turning around, so don’t go building that legend. Dave

Moles? Is that supposed to be some kind of compliment?;-) We don’t have any kind of extendable pole with us but we packed some bailing wire and duct tape for tricky work if complete inversion with reaching and such doesn’t work. We’re traveling light and going early…so, if you can think of anything that could help… Dave
