Wonderful
For the climbers among the canyoners in this group, I have just returned from a few weeks in NZ where I summited Mt Cook via the Linda Glacier, and Mt Aspiring via SW Ridge. Here’s some photos of my climbs. Mt Cook: http://imageevent.com/jburton/mountaineering/mtcook2012 Mt Aspiring: http://imageevent.com/jburton/mountaineering/mtaspiring2012

No doubt Julie will give us all a more detailed account of her climb in due course, but for now the main thing is she’s safe and sound and enjoying a well-earned beer
Congratulations Julie!

Cervical cancer is one of the highest killer of women. In the early stages of cervical cancer, there are no symptoms. These only appear once the cancer is in advanced stages which is why it is known as the Silent Killer.
I have advanced cervical cancer and am raising money for the Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation.
After I recover from surgery, i will be setting myself hard personal challenges to embrace being alive. I hope you will follow my progress as I do this.
Within 12 months of my surgery which takes place on 3rd April 2012, I intend summiting Mt Cook, the highest point in New Zealand at 3754m. Then I will descend through Nettlebed Cave, a two day trip through the deepest through-cave in New Zealand which is almost 800m deep. My third challenge also taking place in New Zealand will be white-water canyoning on the South Island.
