  • We take the young men and young women rappelling down that rock behind Cory and Rob in picture 4. It’s a great-short vertical drop for teaching the youth to rap. It’s about 30ft or so. Belayed a few hundred 14 to 18 year old girls off that rock this summer. Girls are so much easier to teach to rappel than guys in my opinion, especially when they have never done anything from this height and are scared to death. They look you in the eye and do exactly as you instruct them to do. Boys, on the other hand, think they are macho and don’t need to listen and it’s always great to see them about wet themselves the first time they go over the edge because they were too cool to give us their full attention.

    Those rock steps take you up a little path that curves around to the right and then up to the top of the rap. There’s a dirt road at the top as well.
