No actually, bashing Joe has lost its fun too. Bashing his self-appointed position as the authority on canyoning (sorry, I mean the miniscule CP chapter) has lost its fun. Bashing his you-should-know-better comments has lost its fun. Bashing his climber-have-bigger-balls-than-canyoners remarks has lost its fun. Bashing his lurker mode has lost its fun. Damn, Joe, we’re just sad sods aren’t we all? Please provide us with something new to bash you with…
Apart from that I wouldn’t mind doing some ‘gentlemen slots’ on the CP one day, if I ever qualify… it’ll be a change from my boring bolted (or not) wet canyons.

Julien ? what happened ?? Bad day ???
Don’t bother trying to qualify as a CP “hard man” – I knocked on the door and nobody gave home… still don’t know why… maybe it’s like those western movie towns ? All façade and nothing much behind ?
Lots of CP “soft men & women” opened another door – very nice people – who else do you need to meet in a canyon – or somewhere else for that matter ??
I”ve had a bad day too… for the first time in 11 years of guiding I had to call in the cavalry in the form of 6 state troopers, 3 guys from the civil protection, 3 nurses and a doctor – not in a canyon but still… !
What looked to all as a dislocated femur, probably a broken pelvis and possibly a spine injury turned out to be nothing more than severe muscle cramp in the tigh… but only after gettting to hospital and X-rays. I’ve seen similar things before but it never ceases to amaze me how somebody can writhe in pain for hours, scream out at the mere suggestion of movement, get to hospital, hear the words “there’s nothing wrong with you”, stand up and walk away…
I just hate people with a low pain treshold
