On our way to Lee’s Ferry from Page on Tuesday night we observed a helicopter and numerous rescue vehicles near the entrance to Waterholes. I heard on the Flagstaff NPR station on my way home that a group of “rappelers” had heard the cries for help of a man. They located him then phoned for help. The man had injured himself and was hypothermic. Rescuers reached him that night, stabilized him, them airlifted him out the next morning.
