I toss my ropes in the washing machine on gentle cycle with a normal detergent. I might chain coil it to reduce the tangling a bit. If you have a top loader with a standard agitator there is a tendency to wrap around the agitator, so you could put it in a bag if you want. I have a front loader and that is safer. You could also hand wash it in a tub of hot water and detergent.
Air dry it by hanging over lines or fence or whatever.
I think washing ropes helps prolong them, at least psychologically! They look so fresh and clean.

Can someone tell me how to wash a rope that’s been “aluminized” by a rap device? My orange rope is now black, and I’m not sure if I should soak it in the tub with laundry detergent, or use a scub brush on it. ??? Help!
How do you all wash your ropes? & dry them?
