    only, that it is probably easier to tie and untie. And easier to inspect.

    Tom, thanks for the tip. Looks very easy to tie. I’ve used a butterfly knot in the past to secure the rope but isolate each strand independently. Although I have never had folks simul rap off each end of the butterfly (but see no reason it wouldn’t work). Does the stone knot have an advantage over the butterfly?
