Maybe that’s because they are not in this group or any online group for that matter!
Or maybe its because they dont want to face the rath of King Shane – the self proclaimed ethics master. Whoever bolted that canyon did a very very good job and it is a lot less offensive to me than those mickey mouse POS anchors in Engelstead.

Just for you, Ram, we’ll go back to the beginning:
Thanx Tom. I looked at the group photo, checked the photo file, even checked your route write up, but the rave, no! That is the drop. Funny, I didn’t notice the log back behind, but have used the crack and a horn and have gone off that log without reservation. Short drop, wedged nice, good directional. The logs somewhat rotted nature being the biggest concern, but not much of one, methinks FWIW R

You mean the upper bolt stations – put in by the same person, I think. You mean the spinner, crappy bolts lower in the canyon – I pulled those myself. You mean the marginal, single Red-Tip Power-stud on the first pothole ledge? – I put that in myself.
Or you mean some of the tasteful, natural-ish anchors lower in the canyon, perhaps?

Use the 20 ton log 40 feet upcanyon, if you don’t like the stabilized log.

On the right looking down canyon? Rotten old thing just laying there? > If so, I thought it OK if one gets low and goes gently down this short > rap. On the right looking down canyon? Rotten old thing just laying there? If so, I thought it OK if one gets low and goes gently down this short rap. If I am right about the place, to the right of the log and up at the 8 foot level or so, on the wall, is a crack with tons of anchor holding/building possibilities. Ram

The old log with a couple of small rocks on top that could be

go figure.

I think its the next to last rap. The rap you are thinking about is off a hugh log that is jammed in the watercourse. That ones bomb proof. The one I speak of is from a 5 foot long 8 inch think log with a couple of 5 pound rocks on top.
